TOUR QLD | QUEENSLAND ARABIAN HORSE TOURS & SIGHTSEEING
11-13 FEBRUARY (MONDAY-WEDNESDAY)
The Australian state of Queensland has long been the source of significant Arabian horse activity, home to many of the most influential breeding, training and performance programmes throughout the continent's 230-year horse history. The Sunshine State of Queensland, 'Beautiful One Day, Perfect the Next', is also home to many of Australia's top tourist attractions, including the chic urban centre of Brisbane, - Australia's warmest, sunniest & most laid-back major metropolis, the vacation wonderlands of the Pacific on the Gold Coast & the Sunshine Coast, the tropical paradise of the Whit Sunday Islands, UNESCO World Heritage-listed Daintree - one of the world's oldest primeval rain forests at the continent's top end, and the undeniable Australasian jewel, the Great Barrier Reef - the only natural Wonder of the World visible from space.
Scheduled to follow right after Tour HV | Hunter Valley & Australia's Horse Capital, attendees will fly into the Gold Coast (OOL) on Monday 11th February to enjoy the many local attractions of this world-famous vacation hot-spot. Just a short 80-minute flight from Sydney, Gold Coast international airport (OOL) is the gateway to the excitement, entertainment and natural splendour that are synonymous with the region. Airport transfers will be arranged to your Gold Coast accommodation at the Mantra on View Surfer's Paradise, in the heart of the Gold Coast, for your Monday overnight. The Gold Coast, the site of Australia's original WAHO Conference back in 2000, will be yours to explore all day Monday, with an evening excursion planned just steps away from your accommodation at the iconic Q1. Enjoy a spectacular view over the Pacific and the Gold Coast from the SkyPoint Observation Deck, while enjoying drinks and dinner at sunset with your 'Deck & Dine' access, atop the tallest residential tower in the Southern Hemisphere.
The following morning, guests will be transported to Ipswich for accommodation check-in and an early lunch at Dovetails Restaurant. A special presentation of Arabian & Arabian Derivative horses from local breeders & owners, featuring barrel racing, jumping, whip cracking & costume horses at Gatton Indoor Equestrian Facility, will officially welcome registered participants the next day. Many of Queensland's best breeders & horses will be featured at this star-studded event. Immediately following, guests will be treated to an outstanding collection of Straight Egyptians at Blue Dawn Arabians, as well as the consummate hospitality of the Keyes Family for afternoon tea. After a brief stop back at the Ipwsich international for a freshen up, Peter & Penny Toft will play host for the evening for a family BBQ at Toft Endurance. Expect good company, great stories and sensational views across to Brisbane, for what is certain to be a highlight of the post-conference experience.
The following day will include three major stud visits, via coach transport, in the historic Ipswich area, including Bacchante Arabians for morning tea & Moondarra Arabians for a relaxing BBQ lunch. Many of the leading local breeders will share in the presentation of superstar breeding horses and versatile performers, a highlight of which will include an afternoon return visit to Toft Endurance. Evening return will be provided to the Brisbane airport, just a short 45-minute ride away, for departures to New Zealand the following day for continued post-conference tour enjoyment. Your overnight stay at the Ibis Brisbane Airport is a convenient shuttle ride away to your flight departures on Thursday morning.
No matter your travel needs, the WAHO 2019 Conference Team will provide Travel Assistance for all flight arrangements to the Gold Coast & from Brisbane, as well as any additional accommodation & tourism needs outside of the scope of the tour inclusions.
